    Indivisible comes from the word visible individual. Liberty and justice comes from that perspective. However, American government often ignore that in its policies towards the East. What then is the meaning of Independence, without individual search?

    With an American mother and Canadian father I can surely relate to the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance. Prime Minister Lester Pearson had to use most of his considerable diplomatic talent securing agreement for Canada’s own Flag – now recognized widely around the world. His Justice Minister Pierre Trudeau also became Prime Minister.  He had even greater difficulty securing approval for Canada’s own Constitution. We’re still working on the Indivisible part in Quebec and in the west. Your Pledge of Allegiance is precious. Well done Jessica – a very fitting reminder on Independence Day.
